Youth versus experience in plumbers' epic arm wrestle

A BATTLE between youth and experience has ended in a tie for Caloundra plumber Casey Butt and his apprentice Matt Evans.

Mr Butt, 33, and Mr Evans, 19, put each other to the test with an arm wrestle they filmed for Mr Butt's Facebook page.

"Thankfully these boys are better at plumbing than they are at arm wrestling," Mr Butt posted with the video.

Mr Butt pointed out Mr Evans, apart from being 14 years younger than him, was also a body builder.

Ok guys...here it is!!!! Thankfully these boys are better at plumbing than they are at arm wrestling!! Thanks to Ron Milligan the builder for being our videographer/referee

In comments on Mr Butt's Facebook page before the video was posted there were some suggestions his position as Mr Evans' boss at Case Plumbing, Drainage and Gas might give him an advantage.

However, when it came to the duel it was clear the young apprentice wasn't going to give anything away.

Mr Butt exclaimed loudly, his elbow dragging along the bench, as the pair battled for supremacy.

At a few points it looked like Mr Evans was going to lose the fight as, bicep bulging, Mr Butt began to force his hand down, but each time he bounced back, leading one commenter suggesting he was "toying" with his boss.

However, even after the arm wrestle was declared a tie by the pair's videographer and referee, Mr Evans continued straining, prompting Mr Butt to note "he hasn't given up yet".
