Young photographer doesn't let her wheelchair get in the way
FOR 25-year-old Alex Braun, living with a disability does not stop her from exploring her passion of photography.
With the support of Choice Passion Life (CPL)'s Hervey Bay service, Alex has discovered her love of taking photos and is working towards taking a photo using a remote control without any assistance.
At the moment Alex receives support from senior support worker/planner Karleila Holloway, who helps Alex hold the remote control and supports her hand while she takes the photo.
"Some days Alex's arms are stronger than others, so it took a little time," Ms Holloway said.
"It's impossible to describe the feeling when she took that first photo ... it was magical."
Alex's story is one of many highlighted during Disability Action Week, running until September 17.
