Woop Woop bound for Roma
ROMA has encapsulated "the middle of nowhere” so much so it has been chosen to host a four-day modern music festival in October next year.
Woop Woop festival is set to be Queensland's most innovative event for 2019, combining music, theatre and artistic expression to create a modern day spectacle.
Last week, the Woop Woop team was on-site mapping using drones to locate the most suitable area and confirmed a property 47km from Roma would be home to the event. The site is a few hundred metres from the junction of Roma Southern Rd and Dunkeld Rd at Mount Abundance.
Organiser Angie Sellars said Roma was the perfect place to ensure extraordinary entertainment and an unparalleled experience.
"Woop Woop affectionately means 'the middle of nowhere',” she said.
"It also refers to a mythical outback town and we are building such a place in the heart of Queensland's rugged 'big sky' country, five hours drive west of Brisbane.
"Woop Woop is fundamentally about the freedom of artistic expression and music is central to our vision.”
The Woop Woop line-up will include much-loved Australian musicians and bands while also providing a platform for emerging talent across all genres and will be released early 2019.
The event is family friendly and will run from October 4-7, with four-day camping tickets ranging from $20 to $160.
