Woman injured after load falls off back of a truck

UPDATE:

THE scene of an earlier incident on the Sunshine Motorway has been cleared.

Paramedics have transported a female patient with facial injuries in a stable condition to Nambour Hospital.

EARLIER:

A WOMAN has facial injuries after an object fell off the back of a truck and into the car she was driving.

Police and paramedics were called to the incident in the northbound lanes on the Sunshine Motorway at the Maroochy River Bridge near Bli Bli at 11.39am.

A QPS media spokeswoman said the woman was injured but conscious and breathing.

"Something has fallen off the back of the truck and smashed through the windscreen and injured the woman driving the car behind," he said.

A QAS media spokeswoman said they were currently treating the woman, believed to be in her 20s, for a facial injury.

Traffic is delayed but moving slowly.
