Authorities investigate house fire near Toowoomba
UPDATE: A police guard has been set up outside a home near Toowoomba extensively damaged by fire overnight.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services investigators will today investigate the blaze.
THURSDAY: A house was extensively damaged by fire near Toowoomba last night.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service crews were called to the blaze in Wirths Rd, Charlton about 9.30pm.
QFES Acting Chief Superintendent Eddie Lacko said the house was well involved on arrival.

Crews were hampered by water supplies and relied on other appliances to relay water.
The house was unoccupied at the time.
