Wildlife have a feast on whale

THE dead whale that washed up near Hook Point on Sunday at the southern end of Fraser Island will be left to rot.

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service spokesperson said the 8m deceased male humpback whale will be left where it is so it can provide a food source for other animals, including dingoes on the island.

Stranded whales or other stranded marine wildlife should be reported as soon as possible to the RSPCA on by phoning 1300 264 625.
