Why Roma's Clay Target Club is Australia's largest

ROMA'S Gun Club are hitting all the right targets as the largest clay shooting club in the country.

Club president Byron Hewitt said the club continues to grow every year and attracts a lot of high-profile events.

"We are the biggest club in the country and have around 180 members,” he said.

"Nationals are set to be hosted here in 2019 so that will be really good for the club.”

The club are big supporters of local community groups and held their annual Charity Shoot for the Roma Lions Club on Saturday.

"All proceeds from the day will go towards the Lions Club and this year a portion will also go to the Men's Shed,” Mr Hewitt said.

"It's just what the club

has always done and everything we do is to support local charities and organisations.”

Despite bad weather, there was a large turnout for the event.

"The charity shoot is always very successful,” he said. "Everyone can come out and give it a go, you don't have to be a member.

"We have a number of ladies here today participating, which is great.”
