Whims of Warwick weather: hot, cold, then up and down

WARWICK'S weather has closely resembled a Katy Perry song in the past few days - hot and then cold, up and then down.

The Rose City enjoyed its coolest days since October on Saturday, just days after sweltering through one of its hottest days in two years.

Temperatures peaked at 36 degrees on Thursday, cooling right down to just 21.3 degrees on Saturday.

The cooler temperatures brought with it some very welcome rainfalls.

In Allora, there were reports of 13mm in 15 minutes, causing minor flooding in the centre of the town on Friday.

Heavy falls were also recorded around Inglewood and Stanthorpe.

The Bureau of Meteorology said the changing weather was nothing out of the ordinary.

Forecaster Michael Knepp said sudden changes in temperature were normal.

"It's very typical for summer this warming and cooling," he said.

"It could the lowest maximum temperature we have all summer but it certainly wasn't record breaking."

The Bureau is forecasting temperatures will creep back up the mid-30s by the end of the week.
