Wellcamp turns on green light with more flights

WELLCAMP airport continues to fly the flag for progress with green thumbs and more flights.

In its latest development, a partnership with The Queensland Murray-Darling Committee, Wellcamp strives to be "the world's greenest airport".

QMDC staff recently helped the airport plant several hundred native Wilga and Kurrajong trees as a buffer zone between Cecil Plains Rd and the Wellcamp Business Park.

The partnership initiatives also include the installation of a Federal Government-funded energy monitoring system in the terminal to help reduce running costs and effectively manage greenhouse emissions.

Wellcamp airport general manager Phil Gregory was excited to join forces with the committee.

Yesterday, QantasLink launched two extra return flights between Sydney and Toowoomba.

The Monday and Wednesday daily return services provide an additional 148 seats to and from Wellcamp airport each week.
