THE crew of whale watching vessel Whalesong have shared a stunning video showing their first humpback encounter of the season.

The video shows the incredible animal taking a peek over the water before diving under again, then lifting its tail out of the sea.

Whalesong has started its annual cruises and say the diversity of wildlife is changing constantly in the bay, but they have enjoyed regular sightings of dolphins, turtles, fish, bird life and the occasional dugong.

Brian and Jill Perry, pioneers of the whale watching industry, are celebrating in the business this year, adding to excitement of this year's  season.

Their tours will start on Sunday.
