TWO juvenile whales have shown off their acrobatic skills in a double breach off Moreton Island.

The whales were caught on video leaping into the air together by captivated tourists on the Tangalooma Island Resort whale watching boat.

They are among more than 14,000 whales migrating up and down the Queensland coastline this winter and autumn.

A Tangaloomah Island Resort spokeswoman said double breaches were rare.

Whale watching season lasts until September in Queensland, as mothers make their way back to southern waters with their newborn calves.
