WATCH: P-plate driver loses control on wet, oily road

IF you ever wanted a visual demonstration of the need to slow down on wet, oily roads, here it is.

A young P-plate driver lost control on the roundabout where Booral Rd meets Hervey Bay Rd.

According to the video posted this week on Dash Cam Owners Australia, the 'young female driver' in a Daihatsu Charade  was coming around the bend when she spun out of control.

The amount of oil on the road is clear to see.

But some commenting on the post where less than charitable.

"The basic rule is drive at the speed of the conditions,'' one wrote.

"Discounting the oil, she seemed be zipping along pretty fast through a roundabout anyway.

"If you cannot be sure of the grip , drive slower.

"If there is not enough grip to drive safely - walk !

But another wrote: "Feel sorry her, all the keyboard pros will say should have been going slower and such but let's be honest no one can predict oil on the road like that and given she's probably never experience driving on something so tricky. Hopefully she's ok!"
