NEW DASHCAM footage has shown how a moment of inattention can cause traffic chaos on the Bruce Highway.
Clayton's Towing has captured the moment where a four-wheel-drive collides with the back of their vehicle, spins out and
The Clayton's truck had stopped in the emergency stopping lane on the Bruce at Tanawha in the southbound lanes yesterday, ready to tow a two vehicles that had come off the road into the centre median strip.
Police were standing on the opposite side of the road in their high-visibility jackets, taking care of the crash particulars from drivers.
Traffic was slow and brake lights were on as motorists travelled past the crash site.
That's when another crash occurs right in front of the police.
The four-wheel-drive clips the Clayton's truck and starts to lose control.
"We had been sitting there 15 minutes waiting for the police to tow these two vehicle," Clayton's Towing owner Mike Clayton said.
"Police arrived and all other traffic was slowing down, this guy didn't.
"It has happened to us before, but it's not the sort of thing you want to see happen.
"With a car going 110km who knows where the car could end up, the police were just metres away."
