Want to watch Origin Game 1 on Roma’s biggest screen?
ADEN Culverhouse’s love for the Queensland Maroons State of Origin side isn’t exactly subtle – and neither is the screen on which he’ll be watching Game 1 on Wednesday night.
The youngster, who has never seen a State of Origin match before, will be witnessing the greatest rivalry in sport on the Maranoa’s biggest screen, Cinema Roma.
All three matches will be broadcast live at the venue, with patrons only needing to buy at least $10 from the Candy Bar to get in.
Aden’s mother and Cinema Roma co-owner Kerry Culverhouse said the idea to broadcast the State of Origin began early last year.
“We started in January 2015 and then June came around and we realised we weren’t ready so we’re doing it this year,” she said.
Apex Roma will be running a bar in the carpark behind the cinema for Games 2 and 3 (June 22 and July 13).
All Aden will be worrying about is whether his first time watching will lead to a Queensland victory.
“They [Queensland] are tough – we’ll kick their butts!” he yelled.
