UPDATE: Queensland election results and predictions
1pm
THE state election result hangs in the balance, but Labor leader Annastacia Palaszczuk says she's confident the ALP can form a majority once the rest of the votes are counted.
The Labor party needs 47 seats in order to claim victory.
Uncertain results in regional seats had prevented a clear outcome from Saturday's election.
In the southwest, Warrego's sitting MP Ann Leahy is placed comfortably at 48.23 percent, with 64 percent of the votes counted.
KAP's Rob Loughnan is on 21.09 percent, with Labor's Mark O'Brien trailing behind him by less than one percent.
Pauline Hanson said One Nation was not finished despite a poor showing in last night's election.
The party had expected to pick up a number of seats and at least hold the balance of power in the state parliament, stamping its resurgence as a political force in Australia.
At the end of counting on Saturday night, One Nation was yet to win a seat and had lost its two biggest names - state leader and LNP defector Steve Dickson and former senator Malcolm Roberts.
More updates to come.
