Two juveniles in police custody after stolen car chase
UPDATE 3.30PM: Two juveniles are under police custody after they allegedly stole two cars from Roma overnight.
A Queensland Police Services spokeswoman confirmed two Roma teenagers were this afternoon taken into police supervision.
It is understood two vehicles, a Subaru Forester and a Hyundai i30 were taken from different residences either on Thursday night or early Friday morning. They were both sighted at the BP service station on Bowen and Arthur Streets shortly before 7am this morning.
The juveniles paid for petrol using two different cards.
The QPS spokeswoman said both cars had then driven off, before the Subaru returned.
Both vehicles were sighted on the Warrego Highway, at which point police attempted to intercept them but were unsuccessful.
The two youths later left both vehicles on South St and were found on Foott St shortly after 1pm.
UPDATE 1.20PM: TWO men, alleged to be responsible for stealing two cars and leading Roma Police on a chase on Friday morning have been taken into custody.
A Queensland Police Services spokesman said two males were taken into custody just after 1pm today when they were located on Foott St.
He said at this stage there were reports of minor damages to the two vehicles.
Senior Sergeant Duane Frank said more information would come.
UPDATE 11.30AM: POLICE have located the two stolen vehicles in a residential street in Roma.
Senior Sergeant Duane Frank confirmed two cars were stolen last night or the early hours of this morning, one from a business and the other from a residence in Roma.
Police are still searching for the offenders and urge the public if they have seen or heard anything to contact Roma Police on 4622 9333 or CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.
The Subaru Forester and Hyundai were covered in mud and a tow truck arrived to remove the vehicles from the middle of the road.
Police are still investigating the matter.
EARLIER: POLICE are on the lookout for two stolen vehicles, taken from separate Roma addresses.
A Queensland Police Services spokesman confirmed two cars had been taken this morning, including a Subaru Forester stolen from a petrol station about 7.30am.
Roma police were also made aware of a Hyundai stolen this morning from a Northern Rd address.
