Car slams into tram stop, trapping two people
TWO people are lucky to be alive after a dramatic crash outside Flinders St station this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene about 4.20am after the driver of a Holden Commodore lost control of the car and crashed into a tram barrier.
Authorities say the pair were trapped in the car for about 90 minutes as firefighters worked to free them.

Ambulance crews treated a man in his 20s for head and chest injuries. He was taken to The Alfred hospital in a stable condition.
A woman aged in her 30s was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital with facial injuries.
Trams were stopped for a period of time during the rescue but it’s understood Flinders St and all tram lines have reopened.
