Two motorbikes in fatal crash near Mount Carbine

POLICE are investigating a fatal traffic crash involving two motorbikes that occurred approximately 30 kilometres north of Mount Carbine yesterday evening.

Initial information suggests at about 5.30pm, two motorbikes travelling in the same direction along the Mulligan Highway have collided causing both motorbikes to leave the road.

A female motorbike rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The other rider a 52-year-old man was transported by helicopter to Cairns Base Hospital in a non-serious condition.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

There is no further information available at this time.
