Two men charged with murder after high speed Roma car chase

TWO men will be charged with murder in Toowoomba Magistrates Court today after a dramatic high speed car chase through Roma ended with their arrest at Muckadilla.

The men have been charged in relation to the brutal Christmas Day murder of a Morayfield man in Brisbane's northern suburbs.

Roma police detected a sedan on the Warrego Highway near Bungil Creek at 10:21am yesterday.

One eye witness said the car was travelling at around 180kph at one point.

Police gave chase through Roma along the Warrego Highway, and towards Mitchell.

The vehicle was intercepted at 10:41am in Muckadilla, after the driver of the vehicle attempted a turn into Mirrabooka Road  and spun out of control, coming to a stop.

Two of the vehicles occupants, a 22-year-old Caboolture man and a 26-year-old Kippa-Ring man, have been charged with murder. A third man was also charged with criminal offences.

The 43-year-old murder victim was found unconscious in the front yard of a home at Morayfield on Christmas morning, following reports of a disturbance.

He was taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital where he died a short time later.

Police have already charged a 20-year-old Deception Bay man and a 31-year-old Kippa-Ring man with the murder.
