Roma and District Cricket Twenty20 final tonight
IT IS gearing-up to be an action-packed weekend of cricket with the first round of Roma and District Cricket Association semi-finals and the Twenty20 grand final.
The semi-finals will see Leprechauns taking-on Mitchell at the Roma Clubhouse on Sunday morning.
Leprechauns fast bowler Neil MacLachlan said he is expecting it to be a close game.
"Mitchell have a pretty good batting and bowling attack so we'll have to be on our game," he said.
Leprechauns have a young side and Sunday's match will be the first time many of the players have donned the cap in a senior final.
"We have a strong side and we'll be putting up a good fight on the field," Neil said.
Sunday's semi-finals will also see Souths take on Injune.
Souths captain Scott Hilton said Injune will be a hard team to beat at home.
"We're a couple of our best players out but we'll take the best lot we can," he said.
It will be a busy weekend of cricket for the Injune team with the Twenty20 grand final on Friday night.
Wallumbilla will take on Injune at Gallas Fox Park at the 7pm final.
Injune captain Ryan Allen is confident about the match and reckons his team's chances are good.
