Ms Jones said it was the first time her car had been hit by a stray trolley, but added she'd seen a lot of close calls.;

She didn't witness the incident and returned to her car with groceries to find her tail light smashed and a note on her windscreen.

Ms Jones said the incident showed some people didn't have any respect for other people's things.

"My hairdresser witnessed a similar thing where a woman got her kids to hold a trolley.

"They let go and it smashed right into a car, and they just took off."
