Debate about combining Roma schools reignited after tragedy

THE debate as to whether the Roma State College junior campus should be combined with its middle campus has reignited after a tragic crash.

A six-year-old girl on her way to the college's junior campus was struck by a prime mover carrying a trailer yesterday morning.

Police officers and paramedics arrived on the scene at the pedestrian crossing on Bowen St between Hawthorne and Quintin Sts at 8.30am to find the girl had sustained crush injuries.

The girl was rushed to Roma Hospital where she later spoke to police officers who are investigating the accident.
