TRAFFIC WRAP: Roma drunk drivers busted over weekend

Early morning drink driving

A man has allegedly returned a positive breath test after being pulled up by police at 1am on January 23, according to Roma police constable Karlee Longworth.

The motorist was taken to the Roma police station where he allegedly returned a reading over the general alcohol limit of 0.05, but not over the middle limit of 0.10.

The driver was charged, given a 24 hour licence suspension and will appear in court at a later date.

Late night drink driving

A woman was also charged with driving over the general alcohol limit but not over the middle on the same day at 11pm.

Constable Longworth said the driver was pulled up on Arthur St in Roma and allegedly blew over the legal alcohol limit.

She was taken to the Roma police station where she again allegedly returned a reading over the limit.

She was given a 24 hour licence suspension and will appear in court at a later date.

Fail to give way

A man has been issued a traffic infringement notice after allegedly failing to give way at a Roma intersection, constable Longworth said.

His vehicle collided with another on the intersection of Corfe Rd and Charles St at 12pm on January 25, but thankfully, no one was injured.
