Top motocross riders rev up in Roma this weekend
MOTOCROSS: Roma will play host to some of the best young motocross riders in the country when the first round of the Shell Advance State Series comes to town at the weekend.
Eleven-year-old motocross world champion Jett Lawrence will go up against Roma riders like the Callow brothers, the Swan brothers, Braydon Carwford and Brodie Brimblecombe.
Sunday will see our seniors Braden Collins, Darcy Jones, Tyson Parker and Tyler Young take to the track and represent Roma in a hot field of riders.
More than 350 riders have already nominated for this first round, some travelling from as far as the Northern Territory and New South Wales.
Shell Series Race Secretary Rachelle Houterman says the series has been a hit in Queensland for over 20 years, and is geared to all types of riders.
"We see young riders who haven't done much racing outside of club days, right through to pros who have represented themselves on the world stage," she says.
The two-day event starts from 9.15am at the Kimbler Rd Track and costs just $5 for adult entry.
