PAUL Gallen recorded a rare win in Queensland in his ring rematch with Herman Ene-Purcell in Toowoomba on Friday  night.

Gallen stopped Ene-Purcell in the fourth round of the five-round contest in front of about 2000 spectators at a sold-out Rumours International.

The TKO win took Gallen's professional boxing record to 5-0 which shows he is more than handy in the ring as well as on the footy field.

Gallen was met with loud boos as he walked to the ring before the home-town fans got behind Ene-Purcell.

But the Cronulla and New South Wales State of Origin captain was used to that reception in Queensland.

He and Ene-Purcell threw some heavy punches during the four rounds before Gallen got on top in the fourth and made the most of his opportunity having his younger opponent on the ropes.

The result saw Ene-Purcell's record go to 7-5-0 (4KO).
