Too little too late for Gunners?

ARSENAL boss Arsene Wenger says beating competition leader Chelsea in his side's next English Premier League game might not be enough to put his team back in the title race.

The Gunners' 1-0 win over Burnley, thanks to Aaron Ramsey's goal, brought them to within four points of Jose Mourinho's side which travels to play Arsenal on April 26 (AEST) after Wenger's team takes part in an FA Cup semi-final against Reading next weekend.

"I don't think our game against Chelsea will decide the title - they have two games in hand (including the game overnight against QPR)," Wenger said.

"We still need a perfect run and a non-perfect run from them."

In other games last night, bottom club Leicester City kept its survival hopes alive with a 3-2 win at West Brom.

Leicester is still bottom but closed the gap to one point between itself and the two sides directly above - Burnley and QPR.

Aston Villa's 1-0 win at Spurs eased its relegation fears, with former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood revelling in the success on his return to White Hart Lane.

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew said it was "just like watching Brazil" as his side won 4-1 at Sunderland, which is now just three points above the relegation zone.

Hull City is also still in trouble, fourth from bottom just two points out of the drop zone after a 2-0 defeat at Southampton.

Marko Arnautovic salvaged a point for Stoke with an injury-time equaliser at West Ham. The Austrian struck after twice having a goal disallowed for offside in the 1-1 draw.

Swansea City and Everton also drew 1-1 at the Liberty Stadium. Jonjo Shelvey's penalty earned a point for the Swans after Aaron Lennon, on loan from Spurs, scored the opener.
