Tony Abbott to attend Singapore Prime Minister's funeral
PRIME Minister Tony Abbott will join what is sure to be a large group of national leaders from around the world at the funeral of former Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Kuan Yew.
Mr Lee, who was Singapore's first Prime Minister, passed away on March 23 after receiving treatment for severe pneumonia for more than a month.
At 91 he was a political veteran of over 30 years and was still seen as influential figure in his country's political scene up until his death.

Serving as prime minister from 1959 to 1990 Mr Lee will be remembered for transforming Singapore from a developing country into an economic power and building the strong relationship between Australia and Singapore that exists today.
Mr Abbott will celebrate the achievements of the founding father of Singapore and mourn his passing in Singapore this Sunday.
