Three children dead after crash into Melbourne lake
THREE children are dead and another is seriously injured after a car plunged into a lake in Melbourne's West this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Manor Lakes Boulevard, near Pedder Street at Wyndham Vale at around 3.40pm.
A female driver and four children, all believed to be aged under six, were in the car at the time of the incident.
One child died at the scene, one died while en route to hospital and the third child died in hospital.
A fourth child remains in a serious condition at Royal Children's Hospital.

The woman has been taken to hospital and is under police guard.
A number of members of the public also stopped to assist at the time of the incident.
At this stage the exact circumstances of how the car went into the lake are yet to be determined.
Detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit are currently on scene.
