Three cars stolen in two days in Charleville as police begin hunt
POLICE are on the lookout for unknown offenders who broke into a number of cars in Charleville.
Three vehicles, two of which were unlocked, were allegedly stolen during September 21 and September 22.
Between 11pm, September 21, and 12am, September 22, a Mazda BT50 at a Burke Street address was stolen with the keys that were obtained from a break and enter at the house a few weeks prior.
But the thieves needed to move the car behind it, so they smashed the window, put the gearstick into neutral and pushed it onto the side street.
The Mazda was later found in Roma on September 22 at around 5pm.
Between 10.30am, September 21, and 9.30am, September 22, an unknown offender or offenders gained access to an unlocked car on a Parry Street driveway.
They rummaged through items inside but are not believed to have taken anything before leaving.
Between 12pm, September 21, and 11am, September 22, an unknown offender or offenders rummaged through an unlocked car at a Galatea Street address, without any items reported stolen.
