Thousands of St George residents without power

THOUSANDS of homes and businesses in St George have been left without power this afternoon.

More than 2780 addresses lost power in St George at 3.57pm.

An Ergon Energy spokeswoman said crews are currently working on-site.

"It's to allow emergency maintenance work to be completed," she said.

She said crews anticipate work to be finalised by 5pm, however it could take longer.

The Ergon Energy website states other locations that may be affected, include: Altonvale, Bargunyah, Belingara, Bollon, Boolba, Cunnamulla, Dareel, Daymar, Dirranbandi, Flinton, Glenmorgan, Hebel, Mitchell, Mungindi, Nindigully, Roma, St George, Surat, Talwood, Thallon, Weengallon, Westmar, Wycombe.

The public can use Ergon Energy's Outage Finder if you want to confirm of any outage that may be affecting your area.

The public can contact Ergon energy on 13 16 70 for life-threatening faults, including fallen powerlines. Or on 13 22 96 to report other faults, including loss of power.
