That's gold! Roma/Injune Under-10s league side look to go undefeated

RUGBY LEAGUE: Junior rugby league is all about having fun, but for one team there's the chance to achieve something special.

The St John's Maroon/Injune under-10s league side will look to complete a perfect season by winning the Elders Shield on Saturday against Mitchell.

A win would ensure the side, which features five Injune players and eight St John's Maroon boys, go through the season undefeated.

While a win would be nice, coach Grant Lorenz said he'd been buoyed with the positive attitude of his troops throughout the year.

"For the last couple of weeks, their attitudes have been fantastic,” he said.

"A secret to their success is just playing as a team - they're really playing as mates.

"The forwards have been really going forward and making good metres and it comes back to their attitude. They've been a pleasure to coach, it's one of the best years I've had coaching.”

The Roma and District Schools Rugby League season will wrap up on Saturday morning at Cities Oval.
