Thai guest to share her story with Roma

THE Life Christian Church in Roma is welcoming a motivational speaker all the way from Thailand this weekend to talk about growing up in a third-world country and being a sponsor child.

Maneennoot "Noot” Themjai, who is coming to Roma on Saturday, will share her story about living in extreme poverty and how becoming a sponsor child changed her life.

Life Christian Church mission co-ordinator Jennifer Lucas said the church came across Noot through its partnership with the Compassion Project.

"We have a project in Thailand that our church sponsors through the compassion project and they contacted us and asked if we would like Noot to come out and speak in Roma,” she said.

Ms Lucas said the day would also provide an opportunity for the church to talk about its upcoming aid trip to Thailand in October.

"We are going over to meet our sponsor children and anyone in Roma who sponsors a child in Thailand can go over and meet them and also do some aid work while over there,” she said.

Ms Lucas hoped

people would get a

better understanding of

sponsoring by coming

to hear Noot speak.

"We also want people to understand how sponsorship works and how it impacts people's lives significantly when they are sponsored.”
