Teen hit power pole while trying to overtake

THE Forensic Crash Unit is investigating following a serious single vehicle traffic crash in Waterford West overnight.

Preliminary information indicates just before 10pm a car travelling north on Kingston Road overtook another vehicle before it left the road, colliding with a power pole.

Emergency services attended and removed the 19-year-old male driver and a 17-year-old male passenger who were travelling in the vehicle at the time.

Both were transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

No one else was injured during the crash.

Investigations are continuing.
