Teams ready for finals footy

RUGBY LEAGUE: As the Roma and District Rugby League competition heads towards the pointy end of the season, we cast an eye over each club and assess their chances of clinching the 2018 A-grade title.

Roma Cities

Cities has remained in the mix all season and, while they sit 12 points behind the ladder leaders, the side has continued to grab crucial wins to remain in touching distance.

With a star-studded team, the defending premiers will fancy their chances with games in hand.

Red Bulls

Wallumbilla/Surat continues to be the pace setters in this tournament and sits in equal first with the Chinchilla Bulldogs.

Both teams have been building a healthy rivalry this season, having each won a game in their two fixtures - the Bulldogs winning the last encounter in round nine.

Mitchell Magpies

The Magpies have toiled valiantly all season and can consider themselves unlucky not to have caused the boil-over of the season against the Red Bulls in round three.

While enjoying breathtaking victories against St George and Miles, the Magpies have consistently struggled against the top three teams.

Chinchilla Bulldogs

With wins against both Cities and Red Bulls, the Bulldogs will have every confidence in their ability to beat any team in the finals.

While Cities is below them and has games in hand, the Bulldogs are in equal first on the ladder and deservedly so.

Miles Devils

The Devils have struggled to find form this season, having lost heavily in most of their defeats.

Only the St George Saints separate them from the wooden spoon.

St George Saints

The Saints are looking likely for this year's wooden spoon having struggled all season.

A 92-point drubbing in round two against Cities will likely be their worst loss in 2018.
