Teacher faces Caboolture court on child porn charges

A 43-year-old primary school teacher facing child pornography charges has had his bail extended following a brief appearance in Caboolture Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Maximilian Ernst Hodgess, of Ningi, faced the court on two counts of possessing child exploitation material, and one count of using a carriage service to access child pornography material.

He was arrested following a CCC investigation last month.

The CCC has alleged Hodgess was found in possession of more than 7000 child exploitation images and videos.

At the time, the CCC said Hodgess was a teacher at a primary school north of Brisbane and also a member of extra-curricular groups involving children.

The Department of Education and Training was notified.

As part of his bail conditions, Hodgess is to have no contact with children.
Hodgess will reappear in Caboolture Court on September 10 after his lawyer obtains a brief of evidence.
