Supermarket robbed at knifepoint

AN alleged armed robber has used a knife to demand money from a Carina supermarket yesterday afternoon.

Police report around 12.40pm, a man entered the Old Cleveland Road store, approached a 46-year-old female staff member and produced a knife before demanding she hand over money.

The staff member did so and the man fled the store on foot.

A man and a woman were located in a street behind the supermarket and allegedly in possession of a large amount of cash.

A 25-year-old Bellbird Park man has been charged with armed robbery and is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday, August 8.

A 25-year-old Slacks Creek woman was issued with a notice to appear for receiving tainted property.

No one was physically injured during the robbery.
