Students give the angelic gift of hope

THESE three Roma students might think they're just collecting lots of food and toiletries.

But what James Flower, Bella Knayer and Bailey Newman have helped do is give hope to thousands of landholders in need.

Roma State College junior campus contributed hundreds of kilograms worth of non-perishable food and toiletries to Drought Angels, just in time for Christmas.

Nine-year-old James said his family gave tinned coffee and canned food.

The donations have been a silver lining after for the regional charity after a turn of events could see one of their prominent hay runs closed down.

Drought Angels have announced they may pull trucks from their hay run to Ilfracombe due to lack of fuel funds required to keep the trucks running.

With up to 130 trucks looking to help with the January run, the organisation is seeking help from residents.
