Turf Club looking forward to a huge Roma Cup weekend

ROMA'S biggest weekend of the year is finally upon us!

There is no time quite like Cup weekend, and the Roma Turf Club has made sure there is plenty for punters to see, do and enjoy the event at the heart of western racing, and the southwest's social calendar.

From tonight's calcutta at Royal on 99, to the Hall Chadwick Members Luncheon on Saturday morning, and the all-important Brisbane Riverview Hotel fashions on the field, there's something for everyone.

And that is before you even make it trackside, where the best horses in the west will be battling it out in a thrilling spectacular for the ultimate prize: $42,700 and the last remaining place in the Country Cups Challenge final at Doomben, set for November 30.

"We want people to just enjoy themselves, so I am looking forward to seeing the crowd having a lot of fun, big fields out on the track, and the weather is looking really good - so I'm hopefully for a great day out at Basset Park," Roma Turf Club President Brett Ashney said.
