Spike strips end high speed chase near Yuleba

A STOLEN vehicle has led police on a high speed chase near Yuleba on Wednesday afternoon, with spike strips deployed in an effort to stop the offenders.

The incident occurred at around 3pm on Wednesday, when police were conducting patrols along the Warrego Hwy at Yuleba on the lookout for the stolen vehicle.

Police identified the vehicle, and activated their lights and sirens, to little avail.

The patrol continued its pursuit of the offenders, as they reached high speeds along the Warrego Hwy, heading east.

The unit was given authorisation to deploy spike strips, which successfully ended the chase - causing the vehicle to drive into bushland before eventually crashing into a tree.

Two males were taken into custody without incident and have been charged with a number of offences.
