Special debut by Ringers
RUGBY LEAGUE: The Western Ringers our in a dominant display, bettering the Benderoo Bulls comfortably.
It was a special day for the new club, a combination of players from Mitchell, Charleville and Cunnamulla.
The under-14 side played its first game in the Roma and District competition and announced itself with a 58-0 victory.
Ringers prop Aiden Suhan stole the show with an impressive five tries.
His explosive running was evident early scoring a pair of long range tries in the opening 10 minutes.
Five-eight Bryce Lawson was dangerous in attack, with his quick footwork providing issues for the opposition defence.
The Ringers' attacking play was built on the back of a terrific game from their forward pack, who were a handful from the opening kick-off.
The Ringers dominated the middle of the field in both attack and defence, which allowed players to dominate territory.
Even more impressive about the Ringers' first-up win, was the fact it was done without several players who were participating in Western Mustang trials.
Ringers coach Sean Peacock said he was pleased with his team's performance.
"The fact that most of our bigger players are out with Mustangs trials, this was an excellent performance,” Peacock said.
"The way they played as a team was brilliant.
"This game gives me great confidence for the rest of the year.”
