Spa takes out readers' choice award

DELICIOUS food with a healthy tweak at Mitchell Great Artesian Spa has tickled readers' fancies enough to win their first national award since opening last year.

Last week the votes came in and Australian Good Food Guide was pleased to announce the spa had won the 2019 Readers' Choice Award for regional outback Queensland.

Booringa Enterprises chief executive Jeff Watson said it was great to win the award.

"The staff down there work really hard on the food, we have a healthy menu and they put a lot of effort into planning their menus and preparing and presenting their food,” Mr Watson said.

"This is our first award, we've only been operating for just over 12 months.

"In tough times we are proud that our business is doing well, it's a fairly tough business being seasonal so we are very grateful for the support we get from surrounding towns such as Roma, who really pump our visitation numbers up and boost our profile.”
