Southwest man caught allegedly starting fire in dry creek bed

AN ELDERLY Cunnamulla resident will appear in court after he allegedly attempted to start a fire in a dry creek bed.

Cunnamulla police allege on Sunday, September 27, a 66-year-old man allegedly tried to start a blaze along Old Charleville Rd, Cunnamulla.

At about 11.15am, police were alerted to the fire after a passer-by noticed smoking coming from the creek bed.

The local man was charged with lighting an unauthorised fire and will be appear in the Cunnamulla Magistrates Court on November 9.
