South West Hospital welcomes doctors

TWO new doctors - one at Surat and one at St George - will soon be taking up their appointments with the aim of building upon the existing medical services in the two towns.

South West Hospital and Health Service executive director of medical services Dr Chris Buck said Dr Talia Trigger would be joining the Surat Multipurpose Health Service in early April, while Dr Ashleigh Walker would be arriving in St George in May.

"Dr Trigger and her husband Joel will be living in Surat once she takes up her appointment there,'' Dr Buck said.

Dr Trigger said she and her husband were looking forward to moving to Surat and getting to know and serve the local community.

"I grew up in a small town where it was always difficult finding a permanent doctor,'' she said.

"That's why I went into medicine.

"I always wanted to be the permanent doctor in a small country community.”

Drs Trigger and Walker join three other new doctors who have recently joined the South West HHS.

These doctors all have permanent appointments in Charleville.
