South West HHS reveals Roma’s new hospital design

JUST as the Royal Hotel is going through a major revamp, so too is the Roma Hospital, with the first proposed designs and plans being revealed today by the South West Hospital and Health Service.

The proposed draft design and plans have been developed by the project team at the South West HHS, following extensive consultation with community groups over the past few months.

Public information sessions will be held at the Roma Cultural Centre in Bungil St, allowing residents to view the proposed draft, and ask questions on the design.

A spokesperson from the South West HHS said it would be an opportunity for the community to have their say on the design.

“The South West Hospital and Health Service invites all interested residents to come along and have a look,” the spokesperson said.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk announced the rebuild of the hospital after visiting the site early this year.

“Having seen the state of the building this morning, I’ve determined there will be a brand new hospital on this site,” she announced in January.

Sessions will be held at 1.30pm and 5.30pm.
