Toowoomba identity's son killed in horror hit and run

BREAKING: The son of a prominent Toowoomba and Darling Downs family has been killed in a horror hit and run in Western Australia.

Tony Brown's son Patrick, 47, was killed in the Perth suburb of Cullcabardee on Wednesday night.

The West Australian reports he was found with serious injuries about 9pm after trying to get help for his bogged ute. He died at the scene.

Police believe the man was trying to flag down motorists for help when he was hit. Officers believe the person who hit him would have been aware of the incident.
