Six patients in Bruce Hwy crash, including five-year-old boy

FIVE patients have been taken to Gympie Hospital after a crash involving three cars and a truck.

The crash happened on the Bruce Hwy about 8.30am Sunday at Glenwood north of Curra.

The RACQ CareFlight Bundaberg rescue helicopter was tasked to the scene 20km north of Gympie.

Several Queensland Ambulance Service units were already on scene treating adults and children with numerous injuries.

Once on scene the Intensive Care Flight Paramedic was confronted with multiple patients involved in the accident.

The flight paramedic assisted the QAS in treating a five-year-old boy.

He was airlifted by Rescue 500 to the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital.

Other casualties were transported by road to Gympie Hospital with suspected spinal injuries.
