Sisters’ love immortalised in a spray of sand at Buddina

AN afternoon reunion at Buddina for two sisters has resulted in a spectacular image that is even now racing through the internet.

Danielle French, who is studying in Melbourne, was back home for the holidays and spending time with little sister Jess and the family dog, Molly, when she decided to snap a photo of her looking out at the beach.

In the same moment, Jess decided to fling some sand in the air, creating this remarkable shot by pure chance.

"This wasn't planned or edited, (Jess) just threw sand in the air," Danielle commented on the Daily's Facebook page.

"We believe this was an unexpected sign of love from the ocean."

The image has proved popular on the Daily's Facebook page. So far it has had more than 600 likes and been seen by more than 35,000 people.

It also struck us as a great opportunity to ask people what they love about Buddina.

The short answer? Plenty.

Tracey French sent in this fantastic shot, taken at Buddina. Tell us what you love about Buddina - we'll turn the comments into a story to go with the picture in the paper.

"I love living in Buddina, the beautiful beach the serene waters and friendly people who have great day out at La Balsa Park, so open friendly, just has it all in my eyes," said Patricia Mogg.

Janine Inskip said she loved the walk up to Pt Cartwright, "along the beautiful beach, and around the Lighthouse to La Balsa".

Also on Janine's list were the La Balsa Cafe and "their lovely staff"; talking with other locals, meeting friends at Kawana Shoppingworld, the library, the Buddina Community Garden Inc, the parks and tennis courts and the fact "everything is so close by".

Alison Moura agreed about the friendliness of the locals.

"Absolutely love living in Buddina," she said. "The beach is beautiful at any time of day, but my favourite time to walk the dogs is as the sun is going down.

"Everyone I meet is friendly and so are their dogs!

"We currently have turtles nesting on the beach and at certain times of the year we have whales passing by. Awesome!"

Katrina Reed is a temporary local and said she was impressed by the community's beauty and facilities.

"We're currently on holidays at Buddina," she said. "Love the great beach, peacefulness, the bike tracks up to Pt Cartwright and the rock pools, and then the convenience of Kawana Shoppingworld a few minutes away (especially the new eating area!).

"Awesome holiday destination!"
