Roma and Wallumbilla SES staff honoured

AT THE end of a difficult year for emergency services, local members of the State Emergency Service were honoured at a ceremony in Roma on Thursday.

Five members received national service medals, 14 more got meritorious service medals and clasps while two received outstanding service certifications.

Presenting the medals, Federal MP Bruce Scott praised the work of the SES in the floods in recent times.

"Their orange jacket is a symbol of hope and that help is here soon," Mr Scott said.

Maranoa Mayor Rob Loughnan endorsed Mr Scott's statement saying he was appreciative of their help in a busy year.

SES Meritorious Service Medals and Clasps:

Wayne Taylor, Alan Nolan, Graham York, Fergus Seawright, John Finch, David York, Michael Taylor, Robyn Taylor, Rowan Taylor, Peter York, Melody Taylor, Stuart Maunder, Jennifer Ries, Kate Robinsen.
