THE Happy Wanderers have set their hopes high for their next fundraising trip, which will see participants travel the state while supporting the Children's Ward at Ipswich Hospital.

Organisers hope to raise more than $7000 to purchase two intraosseous infusion systems, which enable medical staff to provide vital fluids to critically ill children where veins are difficult to access.

Bob Green of The Happy Wanderers said seats were still available for the 21-day trip which is aimed at retirees and seniors looking to travel.

"We're encouraging people to get in early and book tickets," he said.

"The camping is very comfortable and this year we'll be going to the Bundaberg Rum Distillery as well as inland to Cobbold Gorge."

Tickets for the trip, which leaves on May 11 and returns on May 31, cost $2995 each and include meals, tents, most tours as well as camping equipment and fees.

Those who are interested can learn more at the Happy Wanderers information session, which will be held at Brassall Shopping Centre on Thursday from 10am-2pm.
