Scouts group scrub on at Car Wash

HARD work is one of the key tenants of scout work, and Roma Scout Connor Turnbull was learning just that through his efforts at Saturday’s car wash.

With Saturday marking the ninth car wash they had run this year, members of the Scout Group got their hands dirty cleaning the mud and grime off local cars at Banks Bolts and Fasteners.

Connor Turnbull and Reuben Nicholls, who have both been scouts for almost a year, said that the money raised would help fund their trip to Jamboree next year.

“I’m definitely looking forward to it; it’ll be really fun,” Connor said.

With a record of 16 cars washed in October, the Scout Group managed an impressive 14 cars on Saturday.

“We have an attachment that uses soap and water to spray the car, but the best way to clean them is to just start scrubbing,” Rueben said.

Scout parent Sally Turnbull said the fundraising day went well with the group effort.

“They have been doing a great job for their Jamboree trip,” she said.
